Pharmacy near me
Finding pharmacies near you…
How to find the closest pharmacy to you
The nearest pharmacy is the one at the top of the list above. Pharmacy City locates you when the page opens, measures the distance to every listed pharmacy and shows the closest twenty-five, nearest first, each with its address, a tap-to-call phone number, today's opening hours and a live open or closed badge. The map plots the same pharmacies around your position: green markers are open right now, red ones are closed, grey ones have no verified hours yet. Tap any marker for the details and a Drive link that opens directions in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze.
If your browser does not share your location, the page falls back to a city-level estimate from your internet connection and tells you so; the "Use my exact location" button repeats the request, and the ZIP code box works everywhere. Nothing is stored: the coordinates are used for one lookup and discarded.
Pharmacy open now, open late or open on Sunday
"Open now" means open at this minute in the pharmacy's own time zone, not a guess from the chain's typical schedule. Pharmacy City keeps the weekly schedule of each pharmacy counter separately from the store around it, because a supermarket that trades until midnight usually closes its pharmacy at 8 or 9 pm, and many counters close for a lunch break around 1:30 pm. Holiday exceptions published by the chain are applied on the day. The "Open now" filter above keeps only pharmacies that are open at the moment you look; every city page adds "Open late", for counters open past 9 pm, and "Open Sunday".
Late evening and Sunday are exactly when most independent pharmacies are closed, so a late-night search usually ends at a Walgreens, CVS or supermarket counter. Where a nearby pharmacy shows "Hours not verified", its address and phone number are confirmed but its schedule has not yet been checked against a primary source; call before you drive.
24 hour pharmacy near me
A 24 hour pharmacy keeps its prescription counter staffed around the clock, which is different from a store that is open 24 hours with a pharmacy inside that closes at night. Pharmacy City currently lists 605 24-hour pharmacy counters across the United States, flagged with an "Open 24 hours" badge and counted in the header. Tap "24 hours" above the nearby list to see the ones closest to you; the filter also appears on every city page. Most 24-hour counters belong to Walgreens and CVS in metropolitan areas and near hospitals, and chains have reduced overnight staffing in recent years, so the nearest 24-hour pharmacy can be a long drive from a smaller town. If a pharmacy's 24-hour status matters tonight, confirm it by phone: the number is on the listing.
Pharmacy hours by chain: CVS, Walgreens, Albertsons and more
Searches like "CVS pharmacy hours" or "Walgreens pharmacy hours" rarely have one answer, because hours differ from store to store. Pharmacy City therefore holds a schedule for each individual location rather than a chain-wide rule. Hours for Walgreens and Duane Reade, CVS Pharmacy including the counters inside Target, and the Albertsons family (Safeway, Albertsons, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls and others) are read from each chain's own store locator every day. Walmart, Kroger and its banners, Publix, Costco, H-E-B, Meijer and Hy-Vee pharmacies are listed with address and phone from the federal registry while their hours are brought in source by source. Each city page groups its pharmacies by chain, and when a chain has several stores in a city you get a page for that chain in that city, for example every CVS in a given town with its hours side by side.
Compounding, specialty and independent pharmacies near me
Not every search is for the big chains. A compounding pharmacy prepares medications to a prescriber's specification, such as a different strength, a liquid form or a preparation without a particular allergen; a specialty pharmacy handles complex or high-cost therapies that need special storage or monitoring. Pharmacy City tags each listing by type, so the "Compounding" filter on a city page shows only compounding pharmacies in that city, and independent and locally owned pharmacies appear alongside the chains rather than being buried under them. Independent pharmacies rarely publish a machine-readable schedule, which is why many of them currently show "Hours not verified"; their addresses and phone numbers are still current, and the correction link on every page lets a pharmacist update the listing.
How Pharmacy City verifies pharmacy hours
Every pharmacy in the directory is matched to the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), the federal registry maintained by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in which every pharmacy that bills insurance must be enrolled. That registry fixes the identity, address and type of each pharmacy and tells us when one closes. Opening hours are then taken from the pharmacy's own primary source, the chain's store locator, and refreshed daily; the bottom of each listing names the source and the date of the last check. Open or closed status is computed at request time in the pharmacy's local time zone, with lunch breaks, overnight hours and published holiday exceptions taken into account. Duplicate records, for instance a store filed under a holding company name in the registry and under its brand name by the chain, are merged into one listing so that each physical counter appears once. The full rules are on the methodology and data sources pages.
Today the directory covers 77,517 pharmacies in 11,788 cities across 54 states, 18,454 of them with verified hours, and it grows as each new source is checked.

Frequently asked questions
What is the closest pharmacy to me right now?
Open pharmacy.city and allow location access: the page lists the nearest pharmacies to your position, closest first, with distance, phone number and whether each one is open at this moment. If you do not share your location, it uses a city-level estimate from your connection, and you can also type a ZIP code or city.
Is there a 24 hour pharmacy near me?
Tap "24 hours" above the nearby list to keep only pharmacies whose counter never closes. Pharmacy City lists 605 24-hour pharmacies in the United States, and every city page has an "Open 24 hours" filter. True 24-hour counters are rare outside large cities, so the nearest one may be some distance away.
Which pharmacies near me are open late or on Sunday?
Use the "Open now" filter on this page, or on your city page use "Open late" (open past 9 pm) and "Open Sunday". Status is computed from each pharmacy's own published schedule in its local time zone, including lunch breaks.
How accurate are the pharmacy hours?
Hours come from each chain's own store locator and are re-checked every day; every listing shows the source and the date it was last verified. Pharmacies whose hours have not been verified from a primary source are marked "Hours not verified" rather than guessed. Holiday hours can change at short notice, so call ahead on a public holiday.
Does Pharmacy City store my location?
No. Your coordinates are used for one query to find nearby pharmacies and are not saved, logged with your identity or shared. There is no account, no app and no tracking cookies.
Can I call the pharmacy or get directions from here?
Yes. Every listing has a tap-to-call phone number and a Drive link that opens turn-by-turn directions in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze.
